Well all of it depends on how well both of them takes it when you actually get feelings for each other or someone else too. Sex is a big deal. After a point when either one of them will want to get settled and that's when understanding, true feelings, responsibility all comes into play.
If both share a common locality or city it's harder to break the relationship.
