Once, I was soft, a heart so pure,
Trusting in everyone, I was sure.
Believed in kindness, love, and grace,
But life had plans to change my face.
The blows came hard, each one a scar,
From people I thought would never stay far.
Promises broken, hearts turned cold,
The world I knew grew bitter and bold.
Yet through the pain, some stayed near,
A few true souls who dried my tears.
They held me close, when hope was thin,
Reminding me there’s light within.
But now I stand, not who I was,
The innocence lost, the soul now paused.
The world’s cruel truths, I've come to see,
A girl transformed—no longer free.
Now I guard what’s left inside,
The softness buried deep, I hide.
For in this world, where hearts get torn,
Innocence fades, and strength is born.
